The Rodgers was closed by Kerasotes Theatres at the end of business on May 14, 1998. The theater was replaced by the Showplace 8 that would open the very next day.
The 2nd cinema in the closed-off balcony opened on January 30th, 1981.

The Rodgers Theater is currently open! They just had a re-opening concert featuring Lily Tomlin (Sept 19th, 2008).
They are listed as a 501(3)C Non-Profit. I am so exciting and honored to be the webmaster. I remember going to the Rodgers as a teen! I will post a link to the site when it is running!
CW Rodgers was president of Rodgers Theaters Inc. in 1963. Rodgers also operated the Ritz and Starvue Drive-In in Blytheville, AR, the Anna Drive-In and Rodgers in Anna, IL, the Gem in Cairo, IL, the Varsity in Carbondale, IL as well as the Poplar Bluff Drive-In in Missouri.

I heard this theater has been renovated and reopened for live performances. Is that true?
The Rodgers is in Poplar Bluff, Missouri… not Pine Bluff. I not only attended that theater from 1966 to 1972, but also worked there as an usher ( used to change the marquee letters as well ).
