Opened in 1946 on the site of the early-20th century Opera House, which was destroyed in a fire in the early-1940’s, the Time Theatre was operated by the Ingalls family until the mid-1970’s. The theatre remained in business under new owners until the early-1980’s. The Time Theatre was very briefly reopened by another new owner in the late-1980’s and early-1990’s but closed again.
In 1995, it was reopened as the Allen-Hovde Theatre, home to the Lake Pepin Players, as a legitimate theatre. This operated until 2005. The building was sold in 2005 to a new owner who had the historic theatre razed.
