The Apache Theatre opened in 1946 in a building that formerly housed a roller skating rink. The movie theater was short-lived and closed in 1955.

What does it mean to “move a theatre” to another town? Motion Picture Herald, July 3, 1948: “O. J. Sears has sold the Apache, Elida, N. M., to A. B. Yarbrought, and moved the theatre to House, N. M.”
Boxoffice, Aug. 27, 1955: “Elida, N. M. - J. R. "Bob” Francis, owner of the Rialto Theatre in Melrose, recently acquired the Apache Theatre here. Managing for him are Mr. and Mrs. Milton Barron. Barron is a student at Eastern New Mexico University here and formerly worked at the Rialto in Melrose."
