Website is out of date. Facebook page does not list showtimes.
According to their telephone they are open showing current attractions.
A note in the Aug. 10, 1961 Page Signal mentioned that the Mesa was owned by Stan Dewsnup at that point, and that it seated 620.
The Nov. 2, 1966 Lake Powell Chronicle said that the Mesa had been damaged by fire in the summer of 1964 and remained closed until Nov. 4, 1966.
We are visiting Page from Oklahoma. Here for just a few days. We noticed this theater several years ago, but this is the first time we’d had a chance to check it out. What a great opportunity with “Avatar: Fire and Ash” playing.
We weren’t sure what to expect, but this theater is a gem!
Excellent blast from the past marquee and box office facade. Small single screen vibes. Friendly staff. Perfect auditorium, with classic movie theater seating and cool themed murals on the walls.
Echos of days gone by as you look back towards the back half of the theater where above there used to be balcony seating. I confirmed this with either the managers or the owners when I talked to them on the way out. I wondered if they still had a film projector in the booth, but forgot to ask.
I’ve had a multitude of different experiences at these quirky single screen type theaters. Often nowadays they have older digital equipment and speakers. This makes for not the best experience, projection-wise. That was NOT the case with this theater! I was shocked at the quality of the presentation.
This is my fourth time watching “Avatar: Fire and Ash”. I’ve seen it on huge AMC theater screens with Dolby HFR 3D, Real D 3D, etc. The moment the first trailer started here at the Mesa Theater I knew that the projection was going to be top notch. Super crisp visuals and loud booming sound. It was honestly the best projection that I’ve seen for Avatar so far. I was sure to let them know on the way out. This is a film that absolutely needs the best projection and sound. Couldn’t have been happier.
Was also great to see this theater filled and people enjoying the film. Reminded me of back in the day, before stadium seating, what going to movies felt like.
That is a pretty cool thing for Page to have. I hope this theater does well with Avatar and continues to create memories for years to come.
