The Bard Theatre opened October 18, 1941 with Joan Bennett in “Man Hunt”. Seating for 1,100 was provided, all on a single floor. It was closed and demolished in 1998.

This source alleges that the Bard was razed in 1998. There is a Hollywood Video store at 2470 Bardstown Road as of today, which appears to be new construction.
