The 550-seat Avon Theatre opened on April 16, 1948 with John Wayne in “Fort Apache”. It was re-named Reel Theatre in recent years but then closed down.
It was refurbished and restored and re-opened as the Avon Theatre again on April 29, 2006

The Avon Theatre was listed among the works of architect Fred L.Markham in the 1950 Theatre Catalog.
Opened on April 16, 1948 with John Wayne in “Fort Apache” (unknown if extras added). It originally housed 550 seats when it opened, featuring RCA equipment and a 16½x21ft silver screen.
