Located on Valiasr Street at the corner of Amini Street to the north of Vali Asr Square. The Atlantic Cinema was opened in 1964. It was equipped with a 3 projectors Cinerama installation which opened in March 1966. Also equipped with 70mm projection from early-1977.
The building was later damaged by a fire and was re-opened as the Africa Cinema (Afrigha Cinema or Afriqa Cinema).

Thought it is worth to mention: Afriqa (Afriagha)cinema was prviously called “Atlantic” cinema…that is before the revolution in 1978. The name of almost all the movie theathers, along with other public places were changed in years following the year mentioned above.
