DeSoto Dollar Movies 6

Opened as the Mall Cinema 1-2-3-4. It became a 6-screen theatre on August 24, 1979. Teicher Theaters operated 43 screens in 10 theatres in four states. Drastically discounted seats. The Desoto Dollar Movies 6 was closed on August 11, 2014.

Chuck 1231 you are half right, The DeSoto 4 was opened by CinemaNational (of Syracuse,NY) in 1973. United Artists bought out the CinemaNationals in Florida in 1976 and added two more screens in 1979.

According to their website all Teicher Theatres are closed.

Teicher Theatres closed all of its locations on August 11, 2014 citing Alan Teicher’s age at 80 and his concern about digital conversion away from 35mm coupled with students going back to school ended the theatre and the circuit which only had three remaining location in Winchester, Indiana and Troy and Greenville, Ohio.
