The Maxey Theatre was opened on December 7, 1922 with Norma Talmadge in “The Eternal Flame” & Larry Semon in “The Counter-Jumper”. It was equipped with a 2 manual Marr & Colton organ. By 1941 it had been renamed Palace Theatre, when it was operated by the Schine Circuit. It was still open in 1950. The Palace Theatre was closed on May 11, 1966 with Candice Bergen in “The Group”. It was soon demolished to build a bank on the site.
