Tonie Zoellers' Jackson Theatre was destroyed by fire December 20, 1919. Thomas H. Wylie converted a different building for the next and temporary theatre in late March of 1920. The new-build Pastime Theatre was constructed at 358 Broadway in the meantime by T.H. Wylie and opened in July of 1920. It was converted to sound to remain commercially viable.
The Pastime closed on September 16, 1951 with “Panhandle” and “Flame of Samboul.” It was used for events and for religious services for the next five years as the “old” Pastime Theatre. Stamper Hardware expanded into the space in February of 1957.
