The Jaxson Theatre closed March 9, 1963 with “The Lawless Breed” supported by Chapter 7 of “Tex Granger: The Midnight Rider of the Plains” and a cartoon. The auditorium was gutted by a fire not long after showtimes prevented “Kid Gallahad” screenings. The building was repaired and retrofitted for the Jackson Department Store opening on August 3, 1963.
