Very sad news https://preview.houstonchronicle.com/movies-tv/amc-studio-30-multiplex-closes-15712465
The AMC Studio 30 was closed on March 16, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It reopened on August 20, 2020 along with a number of locations offering throw-back 15 cents ticket prices as AMC tried to celebrate its 100th Anniversary. But with revenues reportedly off more than 90% year-to-year, AMC made the closure permanent after shows of November 8, 2020. It was one of many locations closed permanently by the circuit in a second wave of closures it announced in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

RIP. It was a good run, though.
Movies I saw here: The Little Mermaid (1997 re-issue; I believe this was the first movie I saw at this theater), Mouse Hunt, Blues Brothers 2000, Lost in Space (1998), Tarzan and the Lost City (I actually liked that one), Godzilla, Dr. Dolittle (1998) (Don’t Ask!), Armageddon, The Parent Trap (1998), Rush Hour, A Bug’s Life, Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace (Don’t Ask!), Muppets from Space, Inspector Gadget (1999) (Again, Don’t Ask!), For the Love of the Game, Holes (2003), and The Expendables. The last movie I saw at this theater was Star Trek Into Darkness, which was also the last movie I saw at any theater.
I also saw Shanghai Knights at this theater in early 2003.
