Located in the Holiday Square Shopping Center. The Holiday Square 12 was operated by O'Neil Theatres before closing in 2008. It was taken over by New Orleans based Southern Theatres chain and reopened as one of their Movie Taverns on July 31, 2014. Only eight of the twelve auditoriums will be in use, but the other four screens may be renovated and reopened in the future. On February 1, 2019 it was taken over by Marcus Theatres and was renamed Movie Tavern by Marcus Covington.

Southern Theatres plans to reopen this theater as a “movie-tavern,” targeting Tanksgiving for the event. The IMAX and other projection equipment will removed in favor of digital; seven auditoriums of the current twelve will be used in the new operation. Story here: View link
great news. article confirmed my suspicions that the building was simply abandoned. crazy that they just left projection equipment in there. they should give the equipment away – could be fixed up for an indy theater.

This theatre was included in Marcus Theatres purchase of Movie Tavern and as such as of February 1, 2019 is now operated by Marcus Theatres. This theatre is now “Movie Tavern by Marcus Covington” and all relevant information is now on the Marcus Theatres website, www.marcustheatres.com.
