Was originally owned by O'neil Cinemas, opening on December 12, 1997. Followed by Lone Star Theatres but was later taken over by Texas Cinema. They have 25 screens in 3 theatres in Texas.
Located in the New Braunfels MarketPlace Shopping Center, the Marketplace Cinema 12 was taken over by City Base Cinema in March 2013, to become an Alamo Drafthouse operation, which opened December 20, 2013 with 11 screens. It was closed on March 16, 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Alamo Drafthouse declared bankruptcy on March 3, 2021 and the Alamo Drafthouse Market Place was closed permanently. It was reopened by Santikos Theatres on August 20, 2021.

This cinema is not closed. It was taken over by City Base Cinema and will eventually become an Alamo Drafthouse.

New Braunfels Alamo Drafthouse Market Place closed along with the rest of the circuit on March 16, 2020 for COVID-19 pandemic. The Alamo Drafthouse chain declared bankruptcy and announced permanent closure of three locations on March 3, 2021. The New Braunfels Alamo Drafthouse Market Place joined the Kansas City and one Austin location on that list.
