The Palace Theatre opened in late-June 1926 as a single screen theatre. It was designed by architect Louis A. Rust. It was remodeled in 1937 to the plans of architect Mortimer B. Cleveland and renamed Waverley Theatre. During the 1960’s it was operated by Iowa United Theatres. It was remodeled and made a triplex in 1999, Seating for the three screens is listed at 440. It was closed for renovations on February 19, 2018.
