West Theatre

The West Theatre was another of the small downtown theatres. It opened on September 21, 1930 with 389-seats. The theatre closed in the late-1950’s and was converted into an 8-lane bowling alley which opened in 1959.

The building stands vacant in 2025.

The West Theatre was located on the west side of Sioux City on West 7th Street. The building is still standing, but it is not a theater at this time.

I believe this theatre was actually open at least until the 60s. I know someone who went to this theatre as a kid and he was born in the mid 50s.

The address is wrong. This was at 715. The building has been butchered, but you can still see the distinctive stone squares on the front. It appears to have been vacant since at least 2012.
