The Clova Cinema was opened on May 26, 1947 with Humphrey Bogart in “Dead Reckoning”. It appears as the ‘Talon’ coffee house in the CW television series “Smallville”. Located in the heart of Cloverdale.
The Clova Cinema was closed on August 4, 2014 with a showing of its original opening movie “Dead Reckoning”.

Cloverdale is a neighborhood in Surrey.
Sad to say that the Clova closed this evening, with a presentation of Dead Reckoning (with Humphrey Bogart) – which is also the very first movie ever shown here in 1947.
As of 2015, it’s being used as a church by the Crossridge Church. It’s also been renovated back to its pre-1980s appearance (to a point) and is now referred to as the Crossridge Church at the Clova.

Currently some type of obnoxious fundamentalist church thing.
The Biographical Dictionary of Architects in Canada attributes the design of the Clova Theatre to Vancouver architect H. H. Simmonds. The Clova opened on May 26, 1947 with Humphry Bogart in “Dead Reckoning.”
