Kewpie, The Kansas Theater was at 221 E. Douglas.

Mike, The Pawnee 4 Cinemas was in the Pawnee Plaza Shopping Center on the SE corner of Pawnee and Broadway. The Pawnee 4 Cinemas closed in 2000. Wal-Mart built a store in the mall in 1987. In 2004 the mall was torn down to make way for a Wal-Mart Supercenter

Here is a story about the C.C. McCollister family, who worked, owned or managed Wichita theaters including the Star and Kansas.

The Star Theatre was listed at 221 E. Douglas in the 1914-1915 American Motion Picture Directory. The August 12 issue of The Western Contractor that same year said that a contract had been let for tile work in the Star Theatre building in Wichita, but it didn’t say if the building itself was new or if the theater was just getting an improvement. Either way, the place was definitely in operation by late 1914.

Newspaper listings for the Kansas theatre ended in 1941. Must assume that it closed in 1941.

First mentioned as Star Theatre in a classified ad as someone lost something in a classified ad on December 17th, 1911.
