The building was inundated to the tops of the storefront windows when the North Toe River overflowed during the aftermath of hurricane Helene, September 28, 2024.
Still for sale in 2017. It appears that efforts to reopen this theatre have stalled.

2009 picture better looking by far from what was posted above,good to see towns save these gems.

Interesting bit of theatre history in western NC!
The Film Daily Yearbook; 1941 edition gives a seating capacity of 394. In the 1950 edition of F.D.Y. the seating capacity is given as 492.
