Haskolabio

Opened in 1961 as a single screen cinema, the Haskolabio (University Cinema), was located on the grounds of the University of Iceland. Originally known as a venue for foreign and independent film, this cinema played mainly Hollywood fare, though it also hosted film festivals, as well as the occasional live event, such as concerts.

In 1989 four more screens were added. It was closed on June 30, 2023.
