saw antlers in screen 14. the colors were a bit dull but improved towards the end of the movie. audio was good.
yes. went to see halloween in dolby and it was fun. the men’s bathroom by the auditorium was closed so I had to use the unisex bathroom instead.
Just came back from seeing no time to die in imax and it’s worth the weight the cinematography and the audio are top notch and waiting in line at the concession stand was much shorter than it was and they have limited supply of snacks
they now have open captions for shang chi.
saw green knight in regular. movie was confusing despite looking good and the audio was good.
Saw black widow in regular. Very good. Sound mix was soso as is the case with most recent Disney movies.
Saw old in Dolby yesterday and enjoyed the experience. They showed the same Shang chi trailer back to back and also the theater signs besides the Dolby are not lit up with names.
Finally went back yesterday. The safe and clean measures make it nicer. Saw quiet place ii and enjoyed it although some of the surround speakers need work.
Later this year it will turn 15 years old. Time to upgrade the seats in the non dolby and imax screens!!
The private rentals at this theater have been selling out pretty good especially for Wonder Woman 84 which is an okay movie but I’d rather see it in the theater vs watching it on my phone or tv to get the full movie experience. On the AMC website they have showtimes where the price is up to 30 percent off the regular price which is a bargain. Once the pandemic is over I’ll be able to go to the movies safely again.
Some of the AMC theaters are only open Friday, Saturday & Sunday.
Definitely not a good sign they are doing such limited showings. But at least they have shows during the week. Cinemark Theatres are closed mon tues and wed.
Please update, 2943 seats, seat reduction due to IMAX and Dolby reconfiguration
Can they really exhibit when seating is limited. Many of the auditoriums in the multiplexes don’t even have 100 seats!
This theater i hope reopens in Mid July just in time for Tenet as well as holdover movies from the spring that have been on demand for awhile. Soon they should renovate the theatres that dont have recliners and plush seating and upgrade the audio and projection.
Speaking of which, there is reduced seating at this and many other AMCs due to the social distancing phenomenon that has occured since the pandemic began. Some AMCs in affected areas where the risk is higher such as in Bergen County are closed. The next few weeks will be quieter than usual due to release date changes due to the virus.
Saw Onward in Dolby yesterday and as many of you know now, they changed the policy trailer for Dolby by putting in the generic AMC 100 years trailer that is being shown before every movie and before the format trailer. It’s pretty nice but the generic trailer doesn’t shake up the seats like the “projector is still on” trailer does afterwards. As for the movie itself, it was quite fun. Lots of active surrounds and good color. One of the seats in my row was broken so someone told AMC to repair it after the show was over. Looks like next month will not be busy since James Bond has moved to November and the coronavirus is on everyone’s minds right now.
actually I saw the invisible Man in laser imax and it was a good movie. The sound mix was well done and the picture was decent. The tenet trailer in IMAX was pretty good. I plan on seeing Onward this weekend in Dolby. Advance tickets for the final Daniel Craig James Bond movie are on sale now and this is the first James Bond movie to be shot partly on Imax film.
The presentation of The Lodge was brighter than what I saw with Sonic showing as well as Brahms the Boy 2. Audio was pretty good too. I plan on seeing Invisible Man this weekend in Dolby as it was mastered in Dolby according to IMDB and it’s a scope movie.
I saw Birds of Prey in the laser imax on friday afternoon. They didn’t do the preshow here which was kinda odd. The presentation was good and the audio mix was great. The tenet prologue looked and sounded good.
Jojo Rabbit is playing in Dolby for the first time this weekend in addition to 1917, which is also being shown in the imax for a second weekend. Birds of Prey will play next week in dolby and imax and call of the wild will be playing in dolby soon.
Saw the gentlemen in theater 16 and enjoyed the film. Before the lights dimmed one of the cleaning crew came by to clean up a mess near the floor. The management needs to do a better job cleaning up the theater before the preshow starts since it sometimes happens during peak hours. Bathrooms also need to be cleaned up as well. AMC needs to renovate the other screens before cinepolis renovates parsippany before it reopens later this year.
Imax is 1.90.1. Trailers can be shown full screen unlike Dolby in which flat trailers are windowboxed during scope movies. The advantage that Imax has over dolby is those long trailers such as Tenet prologue that are exclusive to the show. Last night I went to see The Turning in theater #5 and it was a bad movie. The projector was a bit blurry yet the sound was ok.
Dolby here is 1.85. Bad Boys For Life was letterboxed.
Went to see Bad Boys for Life in Dolby and noticed they played the opening before the main enjoy the show trailer and then the previews before the demo trailer appeared. Weird. At least they showed the trailers in correct aspect ratio alongside the full screen preshow. One trailer the love birds was shown in the middle of the scope screen. Audio and picture was great and the movie was a hoot!!!
