The Brookline Theatre was located in the neighborhood of the same name, on South Chicago Avenue at E. 71st Street It sat across from the Oak Woods Cemetery, final resting place of many famous Chicagoans including Mayor Harold Washington, Olympian Jesse Owens, physicist Enrico Fermi, and White Sox owner Bill Veeck.

The Brookline Theatre was in operation from at least 1913 and was equipped with a Smith organ. It was closed in 1922. In 1924-1925 it was in use as a church.
