Originally known as the Falls Theatre, signs found when the theatre was being demolished advertised it as “The House of Talkies” and “A Downtown Theatre With Neighborhood Prices”.
Later became known as the State Theatre. Several well known artists appeared on stage at the State Theatre in the late-1950’s/early-1960’s including: Johnny Cash on
January 18, 1958, Jerry Lee Lewis on April 15 & 16, 1959, Darrell McCall on April 30, 1961, Roy Drusky & Faron Young on April 30, 1961 & Johnny Cash on October 1, 1961.
It stopped showing movies in the early-1960’s and was then used by a community theatre group. Unfortunately, a fire ended its use a theatre and it was demolished.
