Park Community Theater

A neighborhood art house which closed in 1958. The business was still profitable at the time but the building fell into disrepair and management decided to relocate out of the area rather than renovate the building.

Listed as the Park Theatre in the 1951 Film Daily Yearbook at 17 S. Plainfield Avenue.

Built in 1922 by Joseph Siccardi. In the 1920s, owned by Sons of Italy Lodge and managed by Liberty Theater of Plainfield. The DeSabato family owned it from 1933 to 1952. It was open until the 1960s. A photo can be found on page 23 of Images of America South Plainfield.
