Odeon Wembley

first cinema worked at as a projectionist. had simplex projectors and peerless arcs and rca sound. went over to kallee 21 with projectomatic. before conversion to cinemascope the projection box was behind the screen. this became usherette staff room

This was a friendly cinema to work at. I enjoyed doing relief here. The projection room was on ground level and straight on to the High Street. One day I had a “Look at Life” running and the top spool box open. The reel fell off and rolled out into the road where a bus demolished it. The rest is history.
