The Jay Hill Drive-In launched July 10, 1953 with a double-feature of “Desert Legion” and “Meet Me at the Fair.” (Not that it matters particularly, but I don’t see that it ever went by the name of “Drive-In” as stated above and simply opened and closed as the Jay Hill Drive-In.) The ozoner closed for the season on September 11, 1977 with a double-feature of “The Gumball Rally” and “The Domino Principle.” It did not reopen for another season. The concession stand and projection booth was razed in 1983. The screen tower was subsequently razed in August of 1984 ending hopes of a relaunch.
I checked my notes and I got the address wrong…It was on the wrong side of the street. Plus I uploaded a better aerial from 1960.
It should be: 1916 ME-4 Jay, Maine. This should work.
Is is a good a reason why CT should be using GPS coordinates along with the address. It would save time and be more precise in the location.
Hopefully if the website is updated they will add a box for it.

Unfortunately historical aerials point to a different area in Jay. This theater was located in the 500 block of Main Street (ME 4). Cannot pinpoint the exact address. 1915 is on the other side of the highway further north. The entrance though barely visible is still there. The nearest business to this location is Hilltop Collision Center at 508 Main Street.
The address is: 1915 ME-4, Jay, Maine. It should work.
