I have been looking through the Palace thread of theatres and noticed many in the State of Texas….some restored and some gone, but one thing for sure is that the name Palace was used alot throughout the Lone Star State!
I thought you might like to know that the Palace Theatre in Spur Texas (Dickens County) is currently in the care of the Historical Commission and efforts are being made to restore the Palace. The old sign, now restored, lights Burlington Avenue each night! Special events are being held there. I feel certain that if anyone wanted to contribute to it’s restoration they could do so by contacting the Historical Society here in Spur.
