The Bantex Theatre opened in 1940 and served the citizens of Bandera, pop. 877. It was destroyed by fire on September 28, 1969.

This is the first picture I’ve seen of this theater. I wonder if it burned? The lot is empty except for the foundation of the theater through the mid 80’s.
The Bantex Theater did burn down September 28, 1969. The last movie it ever showed was “Yours, Mine and Ours”. The location is occupied by a pocket park/public restroom. It was owned by Mr. & Mrs. Charles W. Knauf.
