Fox Drive-In

The Mary Drive-In opened on July 12, 1953 featuring “Meet Captain Kidd” starring Abbott & Costello & Charles Laughton. It was a small drive-in with a 200 car capacity, operated by H. Ligon. It was closed in October 1961.

It was re-opened on July 2, 1966 as the Fox Drive-In. It closed in 1970.

There are some baseball fields on the property now.

It’s actual name was the Corral Drive-In Theater. Built in 1953, it had parking capacity for 300 cars.

My error, for this theater the name Fox Drive-In is correct.

The exact address is 9595 US-72, Cherokee, AL 35616. The smaller softball field at the bottom was where the former projection stand and speaker traces are, and the baseball field on the north was where both the entrance and exit traces are.
