Since 2016, the Goodhand Theatre has been operated by a nonprofit 501 © corporation called Friends of the Goodhand. The organization bought the building from the City some time after taking over management. The theater is staffed by volunteers. Movies are presented two weekends a month. Here is the official web site.
Motion Picture Herald, May 8, 1954: “Marie Goodhand is this week opening her new 400-seat Goodhand, Kimball, Neb. It will take the place of the old America, which will be remodeled for other business.”
The Goodhand Theatre reopened last year.

No showtimes are listed for the Goodhand Theatre on any of the listing web sites. I guess it’s been closed.
Looks closed by the time the Googlemobile passed it by.
Here’s a fresh link to the first page of the article about the Goodhand Theatre in Boxoffice of December 4, 1954 (the article continues on the two subsequent pages.) The magazine says the architect’s name was Wate Porter, but I think it must have been Wade Porter, who was listed in the 1962 AIA directory as having his office in Cheyenne, Wyoming

Certainly a charming, vintage theater that still graces the small, Western Nebraska town of Kimball. Still features a functioning curtain that is opened before each movie and closed afterward. There is no balcony. Seats, carpet and paint are newer and very nice. That said, the theater still retains its vintage charm. Attended a screening of “St. Patrick’s Day” here in February of 2010 and the presentation was excellent. Be sure to visit when in the area!
