The Doctor McWilliams Opera House opened in 1892 presenting opera, stock plays, lecture tours, and vaudeville shows. In 1902 it was re-named McWilliams Opera House.
During its earliest vaudeville years from 1906, “flickers” were sometimes shown between acts, to run off the audience so a new crowd could be admitted. It was closed by 1918 and became a drug store.
