On June 1, 1970, Boxoffice wrote that W. W. Fincher of Chatsworth GA sold the Jet and the Montgomery to the Atlanta-based Wilby-Kincey circuit. The article added that the circuit flipped the Jet to R. M. Kennedy, Birmingham exhibitor.
The Jet Drive-In closed on September 5, 1982 with a dusk-to-dawn show following refusal to reopen for the 1983 season after a major agreement on the theater not to show obscene or lewd films.
The entrance and exit roads are still present. Along with the brick-base of the marquee. But everything else that was part of the drive-in is long gone.
Independent Film Journal, Aug. 20, 1955: “Matthew Suraci sold his Jet Drive-In at Montgomery, Ala.”
Opened with “Passage west”. The entrance and exit roads are still there(possibly the marquee, screen, some ramps, and the snack bar/bio box are still there too?).
