The Centre Theatre in Sydney, Montana was built by J.M. Suckstorff and opened on July 15, 1947 with “The Jolson Story”. The theatre has remained in the Suckstorff family for over sixy years, and was operated as a first run theatre until September 2008, when it was sadly closed due to illness.
This grand old theatre has been the main source of entertainment for the charming, but isolated eastern Montana city of Sydney. The platter type projector was installed in the late-1980’s and DTS Sound was added in the mid-1990’s, bringing the theatre up to modern standards. A digital projector was installed in 2013.
