The newspaper article announcing the opening of the Grove in 1937, a portion of which I’ve uploaded, indicates that the Palace then closed and the manager transferred to the new venue.

Uploaded a current picture of the former theatre. It has had numerous iterations since its closure: Ben Franklin, furniture, pizza restaurant.

The Palace Theatre in Beech Grove was one of nine Indiana houses at which National Theatre Supply had recently installed a Walker Silver Sheet screen, according to The Film Daily of January 18, 1936.

Beech Grove, IN had another movie theater later. It was called the Grove Theater and was located in the 500 block of Main Street. It was built in the late 1930s or early 40s. It was a typical neighborhood theater. It operated until the late 50s or early 60s and was remodeled into a bank and later demolished. I would appreciate any photographs of this Grove theater.
