Senate Theatre

The Senate Theatre first opened in 1911. Over the years it suffered several fires, and was rebuilt. It was still open in the 1950’s. After a long period of closure, it was restored in 2003 and reopened as a first run movie theatre.

The Senate Theatre was closed on January 6, 2010, due to a fire in adjacent buildings. After renovations it was reopened in May 2011, and is now equipped with digital 3D projection.

If the fire that caused the damage was of NO FAULT of the theater, then surely (and don’t call me Shirley) the insurance coverage is the responsibility of the owner of the building next door?

Perhaps the theater owner should investigate an insurance clause called “PROXIMATE CAUSE.” Good luck folks and don’t give up!
