Opened in the Oak Cliff Section of Dallas in 1914 as the Texas Picture Theatre. It operated until shortly after 1922 when the Rosewin Theatre opened around the corner on Jefferson Boulevard. It later became the Bluebird Theatre.
The building still stands with a faux log front and became an auto repair shop for many years. In 2008 it was converted back into entertainment use as training space for live theatre performances and since 2015 known as the Bishop Arts Theatre.

Wonder why TeCo makes no reference in its website to its occupancy of a historic neighborhood theater?
The TeCo website has been updated to include information about the rich history of the theater.
The Bluebird Theater is now the Bishop Arts Theater. It is a very small theater used mostly for plays. Parking is a problem on weekends.
