Located on White Plains Road and Burke Avenue, the Burke Theatre was opened in 1927. It was equipped with a United States 2 manual 6 ranks organ. In the 1943 edition of Film Daily Yearbook it was listed as (Closed), and was possibly re-opened briefly as the New World Theatre.
By 1950 it had been renamed Burke Theatre again. In the late-1950’s the Burke Theatre had a bit of a revival, showing movies for 25 cents on Saturday afternoons. Unfortunately the 25 cent movies didn’t last, and the Burke Theatre later closed and became an electronic parts store.
