In the early to mid 1950s my parents drove my sister and me to the Cozy Theater almost every Saturday. As button-wearing members of the Roy Rogers Riders Club, we could see a Roy Rogers double feature and two great cartoons for 25 cents. On Saturdays, every one of the 480 seats were full from opening to closing.

Compare the photo above with this one-they are supposed to be the same building. Some major remodeling maybe?

The photo which shows the fish fry next door is how I remember the Cozy from the mid-late 1940’s; we attended every Monday evening. We lived near 6th & Bluegrass, not too far away from the theater.
