This theatre was constructed inside Ingram Park Mall and opened in 1978. It ran first-run movies but soon was ovetaken by the nearby Ingram Park 8 theatres a mile down the road and was already dated by the early-1990’s. It closed soon afterwards and the space now houses a mall-based bank.

The Ingram 6 was the third and final theatre built by United Artists Theatres in San Antonio. It had three nice sized auditoriums and three small ones. Like the UA Movies 4 in South Park Mall, and the UA Cine Cinco in Windsor Park Mall, the UA Ingram 6 had blue American Seating chairs and white Soundfold with blue soundfold accents on the side walls. The large auditoriums had 5 rows with American Seating rocking chair seats, and when the theatre first opened 50 cents more per ticket was charged for the privilege of sitting in one! That policy was quickly abandoned. The Ingram 6 didn’t stay around long. It was outlived by it’s older sisters on the Northeast and South sides of town!
The three large houses had stereo but not the three smaller houses. The small screens were terrible – Scope movies were cropped at the sides to fit a regular size screen. I saw Poltergeist, Yentl, (Bo Derek’s) Bolero, Octopussy and many other movies there. Poltergeist was advertised as having Surround sound.
Was this theatre the one that was built by General Cinema in 1981? Or perhaps the Ingram Square 8 was built off the GCC?
Scott gcc owned the Ingram square 8.
Thanks. Then this should have the “Previously Operated by General Cinema” removed and have UA and Santikos added?
