The Skyline Drive-In was built around 1965 and was located partly on a WWII airstrip. Right near the drive-in was an enclosed theatre called Wards Cinema. Both the drive-in and Wards Cinema were operated by Far Northern Theatres. The Skyline Drive-In had a single 85 foot-wide screen and a capacity for 300 cars. Similar to drive-ins in the U.S., the Skyline Drive-In had a restaurant, snack bar, and a children’s playground. This drive-in closed sometime in the mid-1980’s.

On Dec. 24, 1961, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch ran an article quoting Pacific Islands Monthly’s story about the Skyline Drive-In in Port Moresby. The asphalted drive-in had room for 300 cars.
According to the below website it was located along Wards Strip which was the name of the old airstrip. It’s now a street with the same name.

Operated by Papuan Skyline Drive-In Theatres Limited. Also they held a liquor licence, presumably for the restaurant.
