- Feb 2, 2013 — Cleveland Cinemas no longer running Solon movie theater
The Solon Commons 8 was originally opened by Regal Cinemas on September 20, 1991. It was the first Regal in the Cleveland area. Two more screens were added on September 25, 1992. On May 16, 1997, six more screens were added including two stadiums.
As better theaters were being built nearby, Regal closed the theater down in 2004, and it was taken over by Cleveland Cinemas. In February 2013, it was taken over by Digiplex Destinations. In 2014 it was taken over by Carmike Cinemas. It was closed by AMC Theatres on January 16, 2023.

Carmike acquired Digiplex Destinations in 2014, and this theater subsequently became Carmike Solon.
AMC Classic Solon 16 permanently closed on January 16, 2023. The theater closed without advance warning.
Opened September 20th, 1991 with 8 screens by Regal Cinemas. 10 screens on September 25th, 1992 and 16 screens on May 16th, 1997. Grand opening ad posted.
