The Star Drive-In opened in 1951. It had a capacity for approximately 400 cars. The Star Drive-In closed around 1985.

Very sad photo.
This town had three Drive-ins . Airport Drive-in,STAR Drive-in and Midway Drive-in. The Star Drive-in parked 315 cars making it Galax’s largest Drive-in. It was owned by C.W.Curtis who also owned the Midway Drive-in.
