July 9th, 1950 grand opening ad in photo section
The address given in the display ads were 4412 Newcastle Rd.
We lived near May and S. 65th place. When the new I-240 opened, it meant you got close to the screen facing the highway. Mom made us look elsewhere when we came home during its operation. I guess she didn’t want us seeing some half naked lady.
A closer address, at least with Google Maps, is 4440 Newcastle Rd, Oklahoma City, OK.
The 1969 aerial clearly shows the drive-in on the opposite side of Newcastle to Lugo Manufacturing Incorporated. Addresses change and this puts it on the building which currently occupies the area where the drive-in once stood.
