it’s official. https://parsippanyfocus.com/2021/07/28/its-official-cinepolis-is-not-reopening/
Please update, permently closed, theatre removed from Cinepolis website
Please update, closed under renovations.
From the service manager himself when I asked near the end of november in an email about the renovations,
“We are still in the planning stage of renovations, hopefully the construction will start soon.”
no updates yet….
this theater turns 25 this holiday season. They are busy keeping some screens open and some closed. They should have reserved seating by the time all is said and done, which AMC Rockaway and others already have.
I emailed them March 8th, the SAME day their website changed about remodels. Showtimes are still full to the brim so I don’t they’ve closed any screens yet.
This is what I got back on March 8th, can’t believe it’s finally happening! I love AMC West Orange but would love a closer dine-in theater.
“Yes we are still going to remodel this location, we will have more information soon. Our Mansfield
location has started their remodel and we are next.
Please stay tuned.
Thanks"
They should do the same for succasunna
I hope so, the place has been an utter disaster the past few years, to the point where we could not find three seats together last time we went because so many were broken. Not to mention the terrible auditorium lighting (blue & orange aisle lights shining up on the screen), lack of staff (could have walked in without paying), and general unclean facility.
According to the website today they are undergoing a remodel and please pardon their dust.
no news about a remodel in years. AMC just renovated the willowbrook mall theater down the road and cinemark is opening up later this year a mile futher. This theater needs an upgrade badly
a few weeks ago someone saved a choking victim’s life at this theater.
This location is popular for showing Indian movies since Parsippany has a huge Indian American population.

This opened on December 22nd, 1994 by Nelson-Freman Theatres. Its grand opening ad can be found in the photo section for this cinema.
http://www.dailyrecord.com/story/news/2017/01/05/luxury-makeover-parsippany-multiplex/96210054/ this will give rockaway a run for its money unless AMC strikes first…
Acquired along with Chelsea, Cinema 10, Mansfield and Criterion Blue Back Square by Mexico-based international exhibitor Cinepolis, marking their official entry into to North East (they have luxury, premium and traditional locations in CA and FL with a bunch on the drawing board).
Since the bow tie take over, instead of free movie tuesdays, they have Super Tuesdays, low prices all day.
The outside sign greeting moviegoers on route 46 has been replaced with the bow tie logo.
They are installing more digital projectors and dumping 35mm film. Personally I prefer the look of 35mm over digital since its much sharper on a smaller screen than a digital print. Plus I like the grainy look of it with splices and cue marks.
Name should be changed to bow tie as they now own all of the clearview cinemas. Advance tickets now on a different site instead of movie tickets.
Went to see “The Watch” in theater #3, which is sandwhich between two larger houses that have digital surround sound and probably digital projection that passed some subwoofer noises to this small screen. Presentation was film and was in good condition. Sound was mono. Theater was packed yesterday because of free movie tuesday. The Parking lot around the theater is usually full, so park near any store that’s a good walking distance away from the main complex and watch out for cars!!!
