The Garden Theatre was opened November 6, 1916 with Mary Pickford in “Less Than the Dust”. It was operated by Max Gold and had 1,347 seats. It was equipped with an Estay 2 manual organ. It was later sold to Jacob Fabian. By 1941 the Garden Theatre was operated by Warner Bros. Circuit Management Corp. Still operating per the 1951 Film Daily Yearbook. By 1957 it was operated by Liggett-Florin Booking Service.

Does anyone have a picture of the Garden?
On page 67 of Images of America: Downtown Paterson there is a close up photo of the crowd in 1919 waiting to see “Passion” starring Pola Negri. Not a good view of the theatre. Caption states that theatre was built in 1915 and was demolished to make room for Hamilton Plaza.
The status of this theater should be “demolished” Happened many years ago
