Opened as the Palace Theatre in 1911, it was closed in 1915. Reopened as the Empress Theatre in 1916 and was operated by C & S Amusement Company. This was a short-lived name as it closed soon afterwards and it had totally disappeared from listings by 1926. By October 1930, it was in use as an indoor miniature golf course. In 1931, it became a warehouse.
It was located on the edge of the Bedford-Stuyvesant district. Still to be seen on the facade of the building today are two panels which have the words ‘Comedy’ and ‘Drama’ enscribed on the stonework.
In 2005 it had been in use as a print works which had closed. It is now a convenience store.

Wow, 1930. It didn’t last long as a theater obviously. It appears vacant right now (at least judging by the photos I linked above, but I don’t know how old those photos are). Some of the photos on that site are at least 5-10 years old, so I don’t know if there is something else in the building now.
