Rita Theatre

Opened on May 5, 1934 with Will Rogers in “David Harum” & Randolph Scott in “The Last Roundup”. The Rita Theatre was operated by Jefferson Amusement and was next door to the Frels Uptown Theatre. By 1943 it was operated by Long Theaers and ran it as a second run house after their El Rancho Theatre was built across the square.

This theatre and the Frels Uptown Theatre were both purchased by First Victoria National Bank, and were demolished to allow for the bank to expand to include all of the 100 block of W. Constitution Street.
