The Regent Theatre was originally located at Atlantic Avenue and Lincoln Avenue. In 1921, Bill Hunt purchased and moved the wood structure to E. Garfield Avenue and Boardwalk. In 1945, the Regent Theatre was redesigned (in concrete) by architect William Harold Lee. Closed in 1977, at which time it became a retail mall.

During its heyday in the 1930s, the Regent Theatre operated only during the summmer season, while the Casino & Blaker Theatres operated year round.

Listed as part of Hunt’s Theatres, Inc. in the 1970 FDY & 1976 International Motion Picture Almanac.
I know the one summer we were there in 1965 they had the roadshow engagement of Dr. Zhivago. Can anyone tell me if this was a regular roadshow theater. It was the same year the Ocean opened which was hte roadshow theater from than on.
I will ask again since I never got an answer 10 years ago, was this a roadshow house? Doctor Zhivago was and I can assume by the picture Lawrence Of Arabia was
