The Circle Theatre was built in 1940 around the corner from the more prominent Nubel (Holiday) Theatre. Carl Moeller was listed as its designer. Vintage Bellflower photos at the Los Angeles Public Library show a building with a similar arch roof and pre-1940 cars parked outside so it could be a rebuild of and older building. This may be so since county records list 1940 as the effective date of construction.
The original address, before the street numbering system was changed in the late-1940’s, was 840 E. Flower Street.
The Circle Theatre was always listed as an independent and can be seen today in downtown Bellflower. It was closed on July 23, 1950. City directories show that since about 1954 it has been used as a church.

Acquired by the South-Lyn small chain, Wayne and Albert Hanson, in Oct. 1947. Also acquired Nubel (l/k/a Holiday) at same time. Circle Theatre was closed by South-Lyn on July 23, 1950
