The UA Cinema 6 was opened October 17, 1973. On March 23, 1977 two more screens were added. Closed around 2012, it was re-opened on October 10, 2014 by AMC.

Good riddance…
Honestly, I think the last time I went to the UA Marina was in 1983 with a few friends to see The Big Chill in the largest screen. It is surprising it has stayed open this long considering how terrible the theatres are. In the 70’s I thought they were bad, cannot image how they are now.
A friend who lives nearby has told me the theatre is closed. Indeed, there are no listings for it on Regal’s website.
I can confirm. It is indeed closed. UA signage gone and inside looks gutted and stripped.
AMC is turning this into a lower-end version of their high-end Dine-In across the street. I read that the plan is to make this one family accessible (the current Dine-In is 21 and over only). The signage says “Coming Summer 2013” but I haven’t heard any hard facts about opening dates from AMC themselves.
This theatre is reopened and renamed AMC Marina Marketplace 6. It reopened on 10/10 and is still 6 screens. The auditorium sizes are from 217 to 89. The seats are all leather rockers (non-reclining) and the concessions are mid-range (Mozzarella Sticks & Chicken Tenders along with the popcorn).
I’m inside the largest auditorium as I type this. Pretty nice!
AMC just converted the fromer UA Marina Marketplace 6. AMC done fixed up the sixplex Multiplex .
